CES 2026: Asus updated ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16 gaming laptops

At CES 2026, ASUS’ Republic of Gamers brand refreshed its Zephyrus line of gaming laptops with the introduction of the new Zephyrus G14 and Zephyrus G16 models. Both new products get noticeably more powerful specs and advanced displays, as well as hardware-readiness for AI tasks, while still remaining compact and portable. ROG’s Zephyrus G14 model 2026 strikes a balance between portability and high gaming performance. The laptop is housed in a compact 14-inch chassis and weighs about 1.5 pounds. At the heart of the device are third-generation Intel Core Ultra processors that provide up to 50 TOPS of computing power for neural tasks, which improves performance in both gaming and work applications. Graphics are handled by a graphics card up to NVIDIA GeForce GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU, which is an impressive level for such a compact form factor.

SUS will also offer a version with the latest AMD Ryzen AI processors paired with the RTX 5060 graphics card. The notebook features a 3K OLED Nebula HDR display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 0.2ms response time, and up to 1100 nits of peak brightness. This screen is perfect for both competitive gaming and multimedia viewing. A system of six speakers is responsible for the sound. The case is made of CNC-machined aluminum, and the lid is decorated with updated Slash Lighting. Interfaces include — Thunderbolt 4, USB-C and USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, a full-size SD card slot, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.

For those who want a bigger screen without compromising on performance, ASUS offers the ROG Zephyrus G16 2026. It features a 16-inch Nebula HDR OLED display with 2.5K resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, 0.2ms response time, and 1100 nits peak brightness. The screen supports NVIDIA G-SYNC, providing smoother gaming experience when using compatible graphics cards. Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors and a graphics card up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU are installed inside.

This configuration lets you run demanding games at high frame rates and comfortably handle demanding creative tasks. The GPU’s power consumption limit has been increased for more consistent performance in manual mode. Like the G14, the G16 features an NPU module with up to 50 TOPS for AI functions including real-time upscaling and generative tools. ASUS has also tweaked the cooling system by improving ventilation, redesigning the bottom panel and using liquid metal on the CPU for efficient heat dissipation.

The larger chassis gives the G16 a full-size SD card slot, expanded ports and still remains relatively light &#8212 about 1.85 pounds. In terms of wireless and wired connectivity, it matches the junior model, offering Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, Thunderbolt 4, and multiple USB-A ports.

Global release of the updated ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16 is scheduled for the second half of 2026. Pricing, exact release dates, and regional availability will be revealed closer to the launch.
