CES 2026: Asus unveiled the second version of the AMD Gorgon Point-powered TUF Gaming A14 (2026)
Asus has confirmed that it has ported the AMD Strix Halo platform to the TUF Gaming A14 gaming laptop. The model is a more affordable alternative to the ROG Zephyrus 14 and is currently offered in configurations up to the Ryzen AI 7 350 and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5060 mobile graphics card. That said, Asus has hinted in advance that two versions of the TUF Gaming A14 (2026) are in the pipeline, but until recently only the Strix Halo-based variant had been detailed.
Asus has already posted a second promised version of the TUF Gaming A14 (2026) on its global website, based on AMD’s new Gorgon Point architecture and the same Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU. This modification differs from the variant on Strix Halo (FA401EA) by model number FA401GM and is equipped with Ryzen AI 9 465 processor. The maximum configuration includes up to 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB SSD.

The key difference between the Ryzen AI 9 365 and Ryzen AI 9 465 is support for faster RAM — 8,533 MT/s instead of 7,500 MT/s. Otherwise, the FA401GM version of the TUF Gaming A14 (2026) looks quite familiar, with a 73Wh battery, a 2.5K IPS display with 165Hz refresh rate, and two M.2 2280 M.2 slots for storage.
The TUF Gaming A14 (2026) version is the only one that looks familiar: a 73Wh battery, an IPS display with 2.5K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate, and two M.2 2280 slots for drives.
No information on a launch date has been disclosed yet, but Asus is expected to position the FA401GM as a more affordable option than the FA401EA, similar to what has already happened with the previous pair of FA401UH and FA401KM models.
