CES 2026: Razer showed off a holographic AI companion

Razer has announced Project Ava — a holographic AI companion designed for users of Microsoft Windows computers. The device features a speaker, long-range microphones, an HD camera and LED backlighting.

The device is equipped with a speaker, long-range microphones, an HD camera and an LED light.

Project Ava projects a three-dimensional avatar onto a 5.5-inch holographic display that the user can talk to and interact with. Multiple avatars will be available with the device, each with its own personality and manner of communication. All avatars are animated, facial expressions and eye-tracking, making communication more lively and natural.

Avatars will be powered by xAI’s Grok AI at launch, but Razer plans to expand the list of supported AI platforms in the future. Project Ava is designed to be a constant digital companion, available to the user at all times — while gaming, working, and everyday life.

In game mode, the holographic companion can react to the player’s progress, answer questions as the game progresses and suggest strategies. Outside of games, it can help with everyday tasks like keeping to-do lists, reminding you of important events, and helping you form healthier habits. In a work environment, Project Ava can participate in project development, analyze data, and provide live translation.
