CES 2026: HP unveiled the new EliteBook X G2i notebooks and the EliteBook X Flip G2i Transformer
In addition to the EliteBook X G2q and EliteBook X G2a models, HP has announced another EliteBook X series laptop — the EliteBook X G2i powered by Intel processors. It also accompanies the EliteBook X Flip G2i version, which, as the name suggests, can be used in a tablet format. In addition, there is a third, lightweight modification of the EliteBook X G2i in the lineup, in which some features were sacrificed for the sake of reducing the weight to 999 grams. HP doesn’t mention Panther Lake directly, limiting itself to the wording «next-generation Intel Core Ultra 5 and Core Ultra 7 processors». All models are available in versions with and without vPro support.
EliteBook X G2i and EliteBook X Flip G2i support up to 64GB of LPDDR5x-8533 RAM. A configuration with 32GB or 64GB of the faster LPDDR5x-9600 memory is also available. The lightweight version of the G2i is limited to 24GB of LPDDR5x-8533. The port set includes two Thunderbolt 4.0, one USB Type-C with DisplayPort and charging support, one USB-A 5Gbps, HDMI 2.1 and a 3.5mm audio jack. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 are responsible for wireless connectivity, and an optional 5G modem is also available, but it’s not supported in the lightweight version of the G2i.

The EliteBook X G2i and EliteBook X Flip G2i come with a 56Wh battery by default, and you can opt for a 68Wh battery if you want. This option isn’t available for the lightweight Flip version. The same situation with chargers: the lightweight G2i comes with a 65W USB Type-C adapter, while the other two versions can be equipped with a 100W power supply. All three are equipped with a 5MP webcam.
HP offers a wide range of screen choices for the EliteBook X G2i and EliteBook X Flip G2i. Options include LCD, WLED, OLED, and tandem OLED panels with WUXGA (1920 × 1200) and 3K (2880 × 1800) resolutions. Some OLED and tandem OLED screens support 120Hz refresh rate with variable VRR. All displays in the X Flip G2i are touchscreen, and touchscreen is also available for the regular X G2i in select configurations. The lightweight EliteBook X G2i, meanwhile, is limited to one option — a 3K OLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate, 500 nits peak brightness, and 100 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.
