CES 2026: Google announced several improvements for Gemini on Google TV
Today at CES, Google announced a number of improvements for the Gemini assistant on the Google TV platform. The new features will first appear on «select TCL» devices, before becoming available on other Google TV-enabled devices over the coming months.
The new features will first appear on «select TCL» devices, and then become available on other Google TV-enabled devices over the coming months.
One of the key new features will be the ability to use Gemini to search the Google Photos library. Users will be able to find photos by specific people or events, as well as instantly apply artistic styles with Photos Remix or create spectacularly cinematic slideshows. Gemini answers will adapt to requests, complete with images, videos and current sports updates. For more complex topics, there will be a «deep dive» mode that will offer voiced interactive reviews that are simplified and easy to understand for the whole family.
Gemini will also let you use the Nano Banana and Veo tools to creatively rework personal photos with an AI editor, or to create original images and videos right on your TV screen.
Another important feature will be controlling settings using natural speech. The user will only need to say phrases like «the screen is too dim» or «the dialogue is too hard to hear» and Gemini will recognize the intent and change the appropriate settings without interrupting the movie or show.
