Vivo unveiled affordable smartphones Y50s and Y50e

Vivo has launched two new low-cost 5G-enabled smartphones in China — the Y50s 5G and Y50e 5G. Both models have the same design and almost identical specs and are already on sale in the Chinese market.
Vivo Y50s 5G and Y50e 5G are based on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. On the front, the smartphones feature a 6.74-inch flat LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, HD+ resolution and peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits.
The main camera on both models is the same — at 13MP. It’s complemented by an infrared sensor and LED flash, and there’s also a «breath» illumination ring inside the camera module. For selfies and video calling, there’s a 5MP front-facing camera housed in a drop-shaped cutout.
The two smartphones are equipped with 6,000 mAh batteries. The Vivo Y50s, meanwhile, supports 44W faster charging, while the Y50e is limited to 15W charging.

Other specs claimed include IP64 dust and splash protection, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM support, 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi, a 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphones run OriginOS 5 based on Android 15. The body is 8.19mm thick and weighs — 204 grams.
The key difference between the models was the type of inbuilt memory. The vivo Y50s is equipped with the faster UFS 2.2 memory, while the vivo Y50e uses eMMC 5.1.
The Vivo Y50s 5G price starts at $260 for the version with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Variants with 8GB and 12GB RAM with the same amount of storage are also available, costing $285 and $330 respectively.
Vivo Y50e 5G is offered in a single configuration with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, priced at $215. Both models are available in Diamond, Platinum, and Sky Blue colors.
