Gaming Totals 2025: PC, PlayStation and XBOX
As another year comes to an end, it’s time to summarize gaming. Gaming is one of the few things in the world that consistently delights and surprises players. This time around, there were plenty of contenders that could have been named Game of the Year, which means that things in the gaming industry aren’t as sad as they may seem at first glance.
Well, in this article we’ll pick the best game of 2025, look at the interesting games in the other categories, and remember the games that weren’t even worth mentioning. But now that they’re out, why not? Let’s go!
Reminder that all results in any given nomination are the subjective opinion of the author of the article. You may or may not agree with it. This opinion is not the truth
Game of the Year

We’re not going to pull the cat by the tail for too long and announce our absolute winner right away – Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. What was it that got everyone so hooked that it took the top honors? Let’s find out.
First of all, the plot. Despite the fact that in recent years the graphics have been very highly valued, and some players are too picky about the artwork, the plot and story are still crucial. You will have to think about the plot, get into it, and not just mindlessly wander around the world. Also interesting is the variation (but even if you go through the game 33 times, nothing will happen). And the entourage bribes, what to hide that.
A number of other games can rightfully enter this category. For example, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Wonderful games, no one will even argue here. In some ways, they turned out even better than the first installments. However, they are somewhat specific, and the game of the year should still be more… popular and accessible, understandable and interesting for the majority of players.
Best Adventure Game

Generally, the games from the previous, main category can seamlessly migrate here as well. But to all that, let’s add two more – Ghost of Yōtei and Split Fiction. And we opted for the latter. Why not the others? Because this game is unusual in its setting and story, colorful and allows you to go through the adventure not alone. Again, the target audience is much wider than the same Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. And that doesn’t mean they’re inferior or weaker than this bright and fantasy-fantasy game.
For example, Ghost of Yōtei was a worthy sequel to the first installment. However, many players note that the main plot is weaker, but the sidequests are more interesting.
Best console exclusive

It’s time for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach to rejoice – we’re picking it. Alas, there are fewer and fewer worthy console exclusives every year. And Sony is almost single-handedly competing in this category. Sure, there’s Nintendo, with its various racing and Mario games, but…
There’s Ghost of Yōtei, of course. However, as we’ve written before, the main plot is weak compared to the first installment. So what does Death Stranding 2: On the Beach win? First of all, unusual and cool author’s world, which many people liked since the first part. Here there is a more intense plot, reinterpretation of some moments from the first part, and, of course, quite an interesting idea about the problem of fathers and children, which has not given rest for several generations.
Best Multiplayer Game

We’re finally moving on to a new list of games. Here we have Battlefield 6, ARC Raiders and Elden Ring Nightreign competing for the best multiplayer game. All of the games are pretty serious and it’s hard to pick just one. However, after thinking about it and crediting not only our opinion, but also the opinions of other players, we have come to one conclusion. The winner is ARC Raiders.
In many reviews it is referred to as a multiplayer hit. That’s a pretty bold statement. So what’s so great about it? It’s great for both experienced shooter players and beginners, it has an interesting and brand new world. If we take Battlefield 6, it will be a bit more difficult for a beginner. And in Elden Ring Nightreign there is a big emphasis on the battle royal, which, unfortunately, is not distinguished by something original, a small number of bosses that are repetitive and weak gameplay.
Best Shooter

At long last… THEN Battlefield 6 is among the winners. This nomination remains up for grabs. So many years, so many parts and failures have led us all to the point where this year the company showed something truly worthwhile. The cool maps, modes, weapons and classes have all rekindled fans’ love for a series that many already wanted to bury after Battlefield 2042. So winning the nomination is undeniable.
Of course, ARC Raiders is here again. And then there’s Doom: The Dark Ages, which, by the way, turned out quite well. In terms of difficulty it is clearly inferior to Eternal, but for many people this may be more of a plus than a minus. It has cool setting, music and design, but it’s a bit far from a classic shooter and more like a slasher.
Were looking for copper, and found gold

There are some games that we didn’t mention in any of the nominations, but that many players liked and were really cool. One of such games was Mafia: The Old Country. It became a worthy part of the series. It doesn’t reach the first part a bit, it’s more on par with the second part. However, the story is interesting (and dramatic), the picture is very nice, and the gameplay is good. All in all, if you’ve ever played or looked up to this series – it’s worth playing.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Oh, how much talk and controversy there was around the game, how many bad things were poured out on Ubisoft. But in the end the game turned out to be good and interesting. The intersection of two storylines of completely different at first glance heroes, was a winner, the graphics on high. There are minuses that side quests – extremely monotonous. Especially after Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Also a good variety brings a change of seasons and a beautiful entourage of Japan.
Deadpool VR. It’s Deadpool. And that’s all there is to know about the game. It actually came out quite okay – dynamic, with classic Deadpool humor, bright visuals and good graphics. There are flaws, of course, but…What flaws can we talk about when it comes to Deadpool?)
Games You Can’t Name

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 apparently exists just to get into this section. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if the game didn’t face such strong opponents as ARC Raiders and Battlefield 6. Despite this, though, the story campaign was pretty weak, which is somewhat inexcusable for such a major gaming franchise. The zombie mode and multiplayer could have made a difference if not for the quantity, but bugs…bugs…
And the cherry on the cake was Minds Eye. To begin with, users have rated it 2.5/100. That’s great, isn’t it? The problem is that a lot of effort went into the script and cut-scenes (at least, it feels that way), but they forgot about the game itself and gameplay. Yes, and the scenario came out jaggy as a result – jumps and players get confused in the events that take place. On top of that, the world was empty, the combat was primitive, and it was completed by problems and bugs.
