LG has challenged Samsung Frame and launched the Gallery TV picture TV
LG has unveiled Gallery TV, a 4K model with MiniLED backlighting, interchangeable frames and access to a catalog of more than 4,500 works of art. The device will come in 55-inch and 65-inch versions, with no sales dates or prices announced yet.
LG Gallery TV is the company’s answer to the trend of TVs masquerading as wall art. The model has a 4K panel with MiniLED backlighting and a set of magnetic frames that can be changed depending on the interior. The TV is designed for wall placement and visually replicates the format of a classic framed painting.
The key feature of LG Gallery TV is its proprietary Gallery Mode. It uses the built-in light sensor and automatically adjusts brightness and color reproduction to, in the company’s words, “reproduce the visual texture of original works of art.” This mode is designed to permanently display interior images when the TV is not in use for its intended purpose.
The TV comes with the Gallery Plus app. It gives users access to a library of over 4,500 works of art. You can also upload your own images and use generative AI to create unique works of art customized to fit the screen.
LG lists Gallery TV as part of its new Art TV lineup. The series is scheduled to make its official debut at CES 2026. In this way, the company is forming a separate line of devices that are not only focused on viewing content, but also on integrating into the living space.
At the same time, LG is entering the market later than its competitors. Picture-format TVs are already available from several manufacturers, including Samsung, TCL, Hisense and Skyworth. These brands have been selling such models for years, while Gallery TV will be LG’s first device in this segment.
Information about the LG Gallery TV’s price and the start of sales has not yet been revealed. The company has limited itself to announcing the specifications and format of the device, without specifying in which regions the model will appear first and whether it will be available globally.
