Render of Xiaomi 18 leaked showing Oppo Reno 15-style design
A Chinese tech blogger has shared a render of the Xiaomi 18, revealing a square camera module with rounded corners, a triple-camera setup arranged in a triangular layout, and subtle Leica branding. The series is expected to launch in September 2026.
Here’s what we know so far:
- The display might increase from 6.3 to 6.4 inches compared to the Xiaomi 17
- The battery could be larger than the 7,000 mAh pack found in its predecessor
- The entire Xiaomi 18 lineup is said to feature a 200-megapixel periscope camera
Design inspired by Oppo Reno 15
The leaked image shows a square camera module on the Xiaomi 18 with gently rounded edges and a clean, minimalist look. The triple cameras are arranged in a triangular pattern, accompanied by discreet Leica branding and an LED flash. This design bears a strong resemblance to the recently unveiled Oppo Reno 15 series.
Readers should take this leak with a grain of salt, as Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed the design yet. The company is expected to announce the Xiaomi 18, 18 Pro, and 18 Pro Max in China around September, succeeding last year’s Xiaomi 17 series which was also revealed in September.
Xiaomi 18 specs
According to insider Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 18 may see a slight bump in screen size, growing from 6.3 to 6.4 inches. A larger display not only enhances the viewing experience but also provides extra internal space for more advanced hardware.
While the Xiaomi 17 already packed a hefty 7,000 mAh battery, the Xiaomi 18 might push that number even higher. Under the hood, the device is expected to run on the next-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset.
DCS also revealed that the entire Xiaomi 18 lineup will sport a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. The phone may retain the 50-megapixel main sensor and 50-megapixel ultrawide lens from the previous generation. With the launch scheduled for late this year, the Xiaomi 18 will likely ship with Android 17 and the latest version of HyperOS.
