Sony unveils WH-1000XM6 headphones in new sand pink color

Sony has expanded its flagship wireless noise-canceling headphone lineup, the WH-1000XM6, by introducing a fresh new color option: sand pink. This joins the existing palette of black, platinum silver, and midnight blue.

Originally launched in May 2025, the Sony WH-1000XM6 remains the company’s most advanced entry in the premium noise-canceling headphone segment. At the heart of its noise cancellation is the HD Noise Canceling Processor QN3, which Sony claims operates approximately seven times faster than previous generations. The active noise-canceling system employs 12 microphones and an adaptive ANC optimizer that continuously monitors the environment and how the headphones fit on your head, automatically adjusting the noise suppression level accordingly.

Sony also revamped the drivers for improved sound quality, collaborating with mastering engineers from Sterling Sound, Battery Studios, and Coast Mastering. The headphones support the high-resolution LDAC codec and incorporate Edge-AI with DSEE Extreme upscaling to enhance compressed audio files.

The design has been updated with a vegan leather headband and soft, flexible ear cushions, along with the return of the foldable hinge mechanism. This allows the headphones to fold into a more compact case featuring a magnetic clasp. Controls include a touch-sensitive panel, physical buttons, and a dedicated quick mic mute function.

Additional features include an Auto Ambient Sound mode for better awareness of surrounding noise, a Game EQ profile optimized for shooters, and Cinema 360 Reality Audio Upmix for immersive movie audio. Battery life reaches up to 40 hours with noise cancellation turned off.

Inside, the headphones use Sony’s integrated V2 processor, which powers the adaptive ANC optimizer and ensures consistent performance regardless of the surrounding environment or how the headphones sit on your head.

The sand pink version is now available for purchase through Sony’s official store and other major retailers.
