How to make fully transparent icons on iPhone in iOS 26

With the release of iOS 26, Apple has added a new visual style Liquid Glass, and now icons on the homescreen can be made completely transparent. The feature is already available in the system’s public beta.

How to enable transparent icons

1. Press and hold your finger on an empty spot on the desktop until the icons begin to «dance» (vibrate).
2. A Edit button will appear in the upper left corner — click it, then select Customize
3. A menu will appear at the bottom with design options: LightDarkTinted, and Clear
4. Click Clear — and the icons will immediately become transparent.

The home screen will now look «airier» with the wallpaper visible through the icons. This is especially effective if you’ve chosen a beautiful background.

How to get back the default look

If you get bored with the transparent style, you can repeat the same steps and choose another option — for example, Tinted or the default light/dark mode.
