OWC introduced the Guardian SSD with a touchscreen display

Other World Computing (OWC) has unveiled its latest development, the OWC Guardian SSD. The main feature of this device is that it protects sensitive data with hardware encryption without compromising on speed or usability.

OWC Guardian easily connects to Macs, iPad Pro and PCs that have a USB Type-C port. To start using the SSD, simply plug it into the device, enter a password via the built-in touchscreen display, and you can start transferring files. No additional software installation is required.

With transfer speeds of up to 1000MB/s and up to 4.0TB of storage, the OWC Guardian is ideal for large file backups, multimedia work and 4K video editing. The manufacturer emphasizes the availability of 256-bit AES OPAL hardware encryption. Also provided are multi-user access, read-only mode, secure data deletion and random key placement on the password entry screen. The OWC Guardian features an anodized aluminum enclosure that provides efficient heat dissipation and protection from damage. A USB Type-C cable is included.

The SSD varies in price depending on storage capacity: 1TB is $220 ($17 280 RUB), 2TB is $330 ($25 900 RUB), and 4TB is $530 ($41 620 RUB).
