Razer has relaunched its first Boomslang gaming mouse in honor of the brand’s 20th anniversary

Razer has decided to go back to its roots while celebrating an important date. In honor of its 20th anniversary, the company has officially relaunched the Boomslang — the first gaming mouse that brought the brand to popularity. And here’s what’s known about the anniversary edition.

When Boomslang first hit the market, gaming peripherals were just starting to take shape, but the model quickly became a cult favorite among cyber athletes. Its return — is not just a tribute to nostalgia, but a reminder of how far the gaming market has come in the last two decades. Razer first revealed the Boomslang in 1999.

Unlike today’s gaming mice, the Boomslang has a recognizable design that is unlike any other. For the anniversary edition, the company has kept the signature look while adding modern technology. The unusual snake-head-shaped, partially translucent body with leather on the main buttons is back. The 20th anniversary version gets Razer Gen 4 optical switches and a Focus Pro 25K Gen 2 sensor.

It’s now a wireless model with wireless charging support, Chroma RGB compatibility, and eight programmable controls. It comes with a Razer Mouse Dock Pro with HyperPolling support up to 8,000Hz. The Boomslang Anniversary Edition is a limited edition — only 1,337 units worldwide. The official sales date and price are not yet known, but the mouse will only be sold through official Razer stores and website.
