New Onyx Books readers with artificial intelligence
By ForGeeks McCenter has introduced updated devices under the Onyx Bux brand, specially adapted for Russian users. The new products, including Onix Bux Faust 7 and Onix Bux Bering 5 models, received an improved processor, Android 11 operating system and artificial intelligence integration.
Features of the new models
Advanced screen and backlighting
The two models feature 6-inch E Ink Carta displays with touch controls. The Onyx Books Bering 5’s screen resolution is 600 x 800 dots, while the Onyx Books Faust 7’s is 758 x 1024 dots for a sharper picture. The flicker-free MOON Light backlight allows you to adjust the brightness, while the Faust 7 adds a color temperature setting.

High performance and software
Readers are powered by a 2GHz 8-core processor and have 2GB of RAM. The 32GB of built-in storage is expandable via microSD cards. Both devices have Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5 GHz) and Bluetooth for internet connectivity and external accessories such as wireless headphones. There’s also a 3.5mm audio output and a built-in microphone for recording voice memos.
The Android 11 operating system provides access to third-party apps, including RuStore and Yandex Books. Text-to-speech (TTS), a pre-installed audio player, and built-in dictionaries for translation are available.

Artificial Intelligence and New Features
Readers feature an AI assistant that can make task lists, answer questions, write short summaries of books, and more. A new child mode allows you to restrict access to certain books and apps, as well as control how long you use the device. You can also add your own system fonts and broadcast the reader’s screen to other devices.
Design and bundling
The body of the devices is made of plastic, they are equipped with control buttons and a USB Type-C port with OTG support. The Onyx Bux Faust 7 comes with a protective case, which for the Bering 5 is available for purchase separately.
