Resident Evil’s mobile spin-off will be released on November 18

Capcom has announced that its new mobile spin-off Resident Evil: Survival Unit will be available on November 18. The game will be released in over 150 countries worldwide and will be available for download on iOS and Android devices. The project is being distributed for free, but it will have in-game purchases.

Resident Evil: Survival Unit is a strategy game with base-building elements and real-time battles against creatures inspired by the Resident Evil universe.

One of the game’s key features will be the ability to play as the series’ iconic characters — Leon Kennedy, Jill Valentine and Claire Redfield. Their appearance together is due to a plot twist: the action takes place in a parallel universe, paving the way for other familiar characters to appear that the developers haven’t revealed yet.

Joycity, known for 3on3 FreeStyle Rebound, and Aniplex, which created Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba — The Hinokami Chronicles 2, are working together on the project. Both companies are working with Capcom in a close partnership.

The release of Resident Evil: Survival Unit is meant to brighten the anticipation for the next major installment in the series — Resident Evil: Requiem (Resident Evil 9), which is scheduled to premiere on February 26, 2026.
