The Game Awards 2025 set a new viewing record with 171 million viewers worldwide

The Game Awards 2025 ceremony held in Los Angeles drew an estimated 171 million global online views of the full broadcast, according to organizers. That’s an 11% increase from 2024’s audience of 154 million viewers.

The total included live streaming on YouTube, Twitch, Steam, TikTok Live, X, Kick, Facebook* and Instagram* Live, as well as views in China and India. However, Prime Video audiences, where the show first aired in 2025, were not included in the stats.

According to StreamCharts, the peak concurrent audience on Twitch, YouTube and other Western platforms was 4.4 million viewers, up 9% from last year. There was also a more than 10% increase in confirmed viewer votes —over 123 million, including voting for Players’ Voice awards.

The Game Awards has been held annually since 2014. The show is created and hosted by Jeff Keeley, and its audience, according to organizers, has grown steadily year after year.

The 2025 ceremony featured more than 50 game announcements, new trailers and other major announcements. The main star of the evening was Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 from French studio Sandfall Interactive, which won the top prize and saw a record number of wins in a single evening.
