WhatsApp will get rid of the message counter feature

The latest beta version of WhatsApp has an interesting new feature. It will be primarily of interest to those who are annoyed by the unread message counter on the app’s icon. The innovation will allow you to quickly reset it without scrolling through each individual chat. The portal WABetaInfo has already shown how it will look like.

WhatsApp Beta 2.24.11.13 has a new toggle in the notification settings menu: “Delete unread items when opening the app.” As the feature’s name implies, it resets the unread message counter every time you log into your email.

In other words, once the new feature is added, you’ll no longer have to mark every conversation as “Read” via the context menu or manually scroll through messages to filter out tricky numbers in the app’s interface. It’ll also be easier to keep track of new messages since you last logged into Messenger.

With the new feature, you’ll no longer have to use the context menu to mark each conversation as “Read.
