Adobe and YouTube are launching a dedicated section in Premiere for iOS for creating YouTube Shorts

Adobe has announced a partnership with YouTube to launch a separate content creation space in Premiere for iOS focused on YouTube Shorts creators. The new section provides access to exclusive templates, transitions and effects, and allows you to immediately publish Shorts to your channel directly from your phone.

Addobe announced that it has launched a new section for YouTube Shorts creators to create content in Premiere for iOS.

The company says the space is designed to give creators all the tools they need to create viral videos, grow their audience and work with trends — whether it’s daily vlogs, travel videos or behind-the-scenes clips.

Through its partnership with Adobe, YouTube offers creators an exclusive platform within its ecosystem and incentivizes them to use the tool instead of third-party solutions like Edits by Meta* or CapCut, owned by ByteDance.

According to Megan Keane, director of product marketing for digital video and audio at Adobe, what makes the partnership unique is that creators can immediately launch their favorite template from the YouTube Shorts feed right in Premiere Mobile and customize it to fit their channel. The new section in Premiere Mobile is designed specifically for Shorts, she said.

The Create for YouTube Shorts section includes templates from popular creators with embedded text, effects, and preset transitions. Users can add their own content and customize the templates to fit their own style. You can also create and submit your own original templates.

To get started, you need a free Premiere Mobile account and a YouTube profile to publish directly to Shorts. The Adobe Premiere app can be downloaded from the App Store, and the Create for YouTube button will be available.

Afterward, creators can upload clips from their iPhone gallery, cloud services, or Adobe Creative Cloud. In the app, you can trim and splice, overlay video and audio tracks, adjust color and brightness, and add text and subtitles. Once exported, you can upload your video to YouTube.

Kean said the new tools, such as templates, effects, transitions and a dedicated space for creating Shorts, will be useful for experienced creators and beginners alike. She added that Premiere offers precise multi-track editing, studio-quality audio, AI effects, Firefly AI-powered content generation and other features, making it easier and faster to create and publish content. This helps the company realize its goal — to make creativity accessible to everyone.
