Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Enterprise Edition rugged tablet

Samsung has released a ruggedized version of its Galaxy Tab Active 5 tablet, designed specifically for those who need a gadget that can withstand harsh environments. It’s called the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Enterprise Edition.
The South Korean manufacturer has equipped the device with a reinforced case that’s water, dust and drop resistant. The tablet meets the MIL-STD-810H military standard, is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and has an IP68 rating. It’s aimed at field service workers and industries where conventional devices fail quickly.

Besides ruggedness, the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Enterprise Edition has been given enhanced productivity features. It comes with a year of free access to Samsung’s enterprise SDS SaaS suite and two months of Brity Copilot AI assistant. It also includes a subscription to Zello Push-to-Talk Cloud and 50% off Google Workspace.
On the front, there’s an 8-inch WUXGA TFT display with 120Hz refresh rate and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. On the back, there’s a 13-megapixel module with LED flash.
The tablet is powered by an octa-core processor, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB via microSD card. A 5050mAh battery is responsible for battery life.
Additional features include S Pen support, fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 6, NFC and Bluetooth 5.3. In India, the device will be priced from Rs. 49,999 for the 6+128GB version and Rs. 56,999 for the 8+256GB variant.
