Nubia has unveiled the Z80 Ultra flagship with Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and 50MP LightMaster 990 camera
By ForGeeks Nubia has officially unveiled its new flagship smartphone, the Nubia Z80 Ultra. The new product gets a powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a huge battery, an improved camera and a host of premium features. Here are all the details.
The Z80 Ultra looks like its predecessor: straight lines, flat bezels and a large rectangular camera unit with a massive main sensor. It’s 8.6mm thick and weighs 227 grams. The smartphone is protected from water and dust by IP68 and IP69 standards. The device is available in several colors – Phantom Black (black), Condensed Light White (white), Starry Night Collector’s Edition (dark blue with glitter) and a limited edition Luo Tianyi with a bright red design.
On the front, the BOX X10 features a 6.85-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. The screen supports touch response up to 960Hz, 10-bit color depth, DCI-P3 color gamut, brightness up to 2000 nits, and 2592Hz PWM dimming. There’s also an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
The Nubia Z80 Ultra is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, delivering performance, power efficiency and graphics boosts. The smartphone comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The device runs Android 16 with the proprietary Nebula AIOS 2 shell. The special limited edition version has exclusive wallpapers, boot and unlock animations.
The 7,200mAh battery supports 90-watt wired, 80-watt wireless and reverse charging. Other specs include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, two stereo speakers, and a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port.
Nubia has paid major attention to the camera. The main sensor is now a 50MP OmniVision LightMaster 990 1/1.3-inch format with optical stabilization and f/1.5 aperture, and it’s complemented by a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera (1/1.55″, 120° field of view, f/1.8) and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens (1/2″, f/2.4) with macro and OIS.
Added to that is a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera (1/1.55″, 120° angle of view, f/1.8).
For mobile photography enthusiasts, Nubia introduced the Professional Photography Kit, a leather and titanium body with mechanical buttons, T-mount external lens mount, and an adapter for 67mm light filters.
The smartphone is already on sale in China, with a worldwide release expected soon.
