Garmin has launched the new D2 Air X15 and D2 Mach 2 aviator smartwatches

Garmin has released two new smartwatches for pilots — the D2 Air X15 and D2 Mach 2. Both devices combine professional aviation features with the capabilities of a fitness tracker and smart watch.
The two devices are designed for pilots and pilots with the ability to use a fitness tracker and smart watch.
The two models feature AMOLED touchscreen displays, built-in speakers and microphones, voice command support and synchronization with the aircraft’s onboard electronics. The watch also provides morning flight reports. The D2 Air X15 has a battery life of up to 10 days, and the D2 Mach 2 — up to 26 days in smartwatch mode.
The watch can be connected to the Garmin Pilot app, which displays flight data, navigation and crew alerts. Voice commands to start flight mode or request weather reports (METAR) are also supported. Pilots can record geotagged voice memos during flight, and through the Garmin Messenger app, send and receive text messages directly from the watch.
The D2 Air X15 model gets a 1.4-inch AMOLED display protected by Gorilla Glass 3, a steel or graphite bezel, and a black silicone strap. The dial color automatically changes according to METAR weather data. The built-in LED flashlight features white and red light, including a Red Shift mode that is safe for night vision. The watch supports PlaneSync, which allows you to remotely check the status of the airplane — fuel level, battery charge and other parameters.

The device supports GPS navigation, HSI indicator, global airfield database, barometric altimeter, METAR/TAF forecasts, flight logging and other features. Health tools include — ECG, pulse oximeter, sleep tracking, stress, respiration, heart rate variability, hydration and menstrual cycle, and jetlag recommendations. Fitness features include animated workouts, customized Garmin Coach plans, golf maps, and recovery metrics.
The D2 Mach 2 version features sapphire crystal, a titanium bezel, metal sensor protection and water-resistant buttons. It offers Garmin’s most detailed aviation maps — showing terrain, runways, airspace and weather layers. The watch can track the flight path and notify the pilot of weather conditions if they exceed personal limits.
