Minisforum announced the world’s first Transformer tablet with Ryzen 8000 processor

Minisforum is known for making small desktop computers, but the Chinese PC maker has announced plans to release a 2-in-1 tablet called Minisforum V3, powered by one of AMD’s Ryzen 8000 (Hawk Point) processors.

In its press release, Minisforum unveiled its upcoming tablet where it shared images showing the design as well as the main features of the tablet called Minisforum V3.

Miniforum notes that specs are still preliminary, but for now the company plans for the V3 tablet to feature a 14-inch QHD+ display with a refresh rate of 165Hz, a detachable keyboard, and support for a digital pen with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. It also features a 3.5mm audio jack and an SD card reader.

Other features expected for the tablet include 6400MHz RAM, a 50Wh or higher battery, four speakers (2 bass drivers and 2 tweeters), WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 support, a fingerprint sensor in the power button and a 2-megapixel front camera compatible with Windows Hello, as well as a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera.

The tablet’s other features are expected to include 6400MHz RAM and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera.

The tablet will have two USB4 ports for power, data, or video output and a USB-C port that works only as a display input, allowing the Minisforum V3 to be used as a monitor for a phone, laptop, or other devices.

The company hasn’t yet announced pricing for the Transformer tablet, but sources say it will be available in 2024.
