Rumor: Apple iPhone 15 will be lighter

Apple will unveil the iPhone 15 series on September 12, and now we’ve heard from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that most of the production issues have been fixed. The CIS, panel and battery stacking issues may have already been fixed, but the iPhone 15 Pro Max will still be the last one available. According to Kuo, the project got off to a late start, so the mass production schedule is lagging behind other models.

The CIS stack issue has been resolved by increasing production capacity, although this could affect up to 15% of Apple iPhone 15 and 15 Plus shipments. The battery and bezel issues have been addressed in a similar fashion — factories are simply working harder than before.

The display issue was reportedly resolved by «changing the supplier supply mix» and we know from previous reports that Samsung received the bulk of the orders while BOE was sent back to the drawing board to fix a light output issue caused by a faulty panel architecture and its driver.
