In a web post, Jia Jindong talks about the company’s in-house developed 6nm V3 chip and its capabilities. It will allow smartphones to shoot video in portrait mode at up to 4K resolution and offer advanced post-processing editing features.

The chip will likely enable other features beyond 4K portrait mode. It’s also an open question as to which device the chip will premiere in. It’s a safe bet that it will be the X100 imaging flagship, which is expected in Q4 of this year.

Which is expected in the fourth quarter of this year.
