Grand Theft Auto VI’s second trailer tells the story of Bonnie and Clyde

A new GTA 6 trailer has just been released. It’s been quite a while since Rockstar blew up the internet with the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer and then shelved the game, but now we finally have a second look. The new trailer – like the first – focuses heavily on character and world building, without much gameplay (though the developer calls it “the biggest and most exciting evolution of the series to date”).

Storyline: Jason and Lucia

We have a few more details about the storyline. Here’s the description from Rockstar:

Jason and Lucia always knew they were playing by other people’s rules. But when an attempt to make easy money goes awry, they find themselves on the dark side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy that stretches across the entire state of Leonida – and it’s a mess that can only be gotten out of by working together.

The new trailer also offers a closer look at the game’s setting. The action takes place in a fictionalized version of Florida called Leonida, home to the iconic Weiss City. The game will feature a Bonnie and Clyde-esque story.

Release Date and Expectations

The sixth Grand Theft Auto game was previously scheduled for a fall 2025 release on PS5 and Xbox Series , but was later pushed back to May 2026. Reports also said that user-generated content could play an important role in the release.

Of course, GTA fans are used to waiting. It’s been more than a decade since GTA V first came out and was subsequently ported to multiple console generations; over 200 million copies have been sold in that time.
