Summer Game Fest 2025: what to expect

Gamers believe that summer won’t come until Summer Game Fest starts. To upset no one, the event will take place this year and will likely be the biggest in years. It will feature more partners and reviews of upcoming video games than previous years. One of the biggest platforms of the year will feature everything — from the biggest AAA titles to curious indie games.

Unlike the showcases of old, Summer Game Fest — is a multi-day event that includes separate exhibitions throughout the weekend. Whether you’re playing on PS5, Xbox, Switch 2 or PC, — at least one game you’re sure to enjoy.

When is Summer Game Fest 2025

The first Summer Game Fest 2025 will kick off on Friday, June 6, and will last about 2 hours. Like last year, this first show will move directly into the Day of the Devs show to show everyone a few smaller projects.

June 7 will kick off with Wholesome Direct, Future Games Show and Green Games Showcase.

The final day, June 8, will open with the Xbox Games Showcase, which will seamlessly transition into The Outer Worlds 2 Direct. The last presentation of the entire event — the PC Gaming Show.

How to watch

Jeff Caley, creator and host of Summer Game Fest, will be broadcasting the event on SGF’s official YouTube and Twitch channels.
