The Oppo Find X9 Ultra has been called “unprecedentedly powerful”

Oppo has actually confirmed the development of the Find X9 Ultra smartphone: the head of the Find product line, Zhou Yibao, has publicly characterized the device as “unprecedentedly powerful,” with leaks pointing to a flagship processor and a seriously upgraded camera.

Oppo has given the first official indication of the existence of the Find X9 Ultra. Find series product head Zhou Yibao responded to a user on social media who asked for a “quick reveal” of the Find X9 Ultra. His response consisted of two words – “unprecedentedly powerful”. He didn’t give any specs, but the comment itself confirmed that the device is in development.

This statement coincides with earlier leaks about Oppo’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-based flagship, which sources directly link specifically to the Find X9 Ultra. According to IT Home, the smartphone will get a significantly redesigned camera system with a focus on high-end mobile photography.

The main module is expected to be built on a 200-megapixel sensor measuring about 1/1.12 inches. The camera is also rumored to include a 50-megapixel super wide-angle module, a 200-megapixel periscope mid telephoto camera, a 50-megapixel periscope super telephoto camera, and a multispectral sensor. Thus, the Find X9 Ultra is expected to move from 50MP to 200MP in two key modules at once – main and mid-telephoto.

The 3x periscope sensor will get larger, according to leaks, with its size increasing to 1/1.3-inch versus 1/1.56-inch on the Find X8 Ultra. The main sensor, on the other hand, may shrink slightly to about 1/1.2-inch compared to the previous model’s 1-inch sensor.

In October, sources had already reported the existence of an engineering sample that was being linked to the Find X9 Ultra. Back then, it mentioned a flat 2K display with 2.5D glass, a battery with a capacity of over 7,000mAh, support for fast wired charging up to 100W and wireless charging up to 50W. There was also mention of an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, and a large vibration motor.

Oppo hasn’t officially confirmed any of these specs yet. However, the combination of leaks and Zhou Yibao’s direct commentary suggest that the company is preparing one of the most powerful and tech-saturated flagships in its lineup. More details are expected to emerge as we get closer to the announcement.
