PC Gamer has published an up-to-date list of the top 100 games

Lists of the best video games of all time are regularly presented (or disappointed) by foreign publications, which, as a rule, differ from each other and cause a lot of controversy. PC Gamer’s editorial staff is no exception, and has unveiled its latest top 100.

The most controversial aspect of such rankings is usually the placement of games into specific positions. To minimize subjectivity, PC Gamer developed their own scoring system. Games were judged on three parameters: quality (60%), uniqueness (20%), and impact on the gaming industry (20%).

But even this approach didn’t eliminate the questions. Baldur’s Gate 3, Disco Elysium – The Final Cut and Dwarf Fortress took the first three spots. If the leadership of Baldur’s Gate 3 is undoubted, the influence of Disco Elysium and Dwarf Fortress on the industry seems quite modest, as these projects did not become the originators of any new trends. Nevertheless, PC Gamer claims that these games have had a significant impact on other projects (without giving any specific examples).

According to PC Gamer, Disco Elysium and Dwarf Fortress have had a significant impact on the industry.
