Danish musical instrument and accessories manufacturer Openhagen has unveiled its new LightBoks projector in a natural wood case. Despite its unusual design, the device has advanced features and is capable of acting as a smart TV.

The Openhagen LightBoks body is available in oak or walnut wood in the buyer’s choice of wood. Thanks to its cubic shape, it can be mounted vertically for ceiling projection or laid on its side for vertical video viewing without black bars on the sides.

The projection brightness is 300 ANSI lumens, native resolution — 1080p (4K content decoding is supported). Projection size ranges from 42 to 180 inches. A built-in 5W stereo system is responsible for sound. The projector also supports Smart TV features, including online playback and streaming from mobile devices (MiraCast, Airplay).

The manufacturer also notes the availability of keystone correction up to 30°. Interfaces include HDMI 2.0 and USB Type-A ports, AV tunnels, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Built-in memory is 32 GB, and performance is provided by HiSilicon processor. Case dimensions — 180x175x175 mm, weight — 2.3 kg.

At the same time, the device is designed for use in a variety of applications.

The Openhagen LightBoks will have a retail price of $899 (79,500 rubles), but it can be pre-ordered for $494 (43,690 rubles) as part of a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Sales are scheduled to begin in July.
