Casio releases Barbie version of G-Shock watch

According to Great G-Shock World, the model will be called the GMA-S110BE, GMA-S110BE-4A or GMA-S110BE-4AJR and is based on the popular GMA-S110 series. The information has now been confirmed by Casio’s official retailer in Hong Kong, Jebsen, which has also given an estimated release date.

Start of sales and price
The marketing page states that users will be able to register for a drawing for the right to buy the watch starting February 10. Deliveries will begin on February 24. In Hong Kong, the watch will cost HK1,580 (approximately $204 USD). It’s not yet known in which other markets the model will be available and how much it will cost.

Design and functionality
The GMA-S110BE-4A watch is designed in predominantly pink colors, with different shades on the case, strap and dial. The case features the signature Barbie logo, while the speed indicator reveals a heart – a playful accent that perfectly matches the Barbie brand’s style.

Functionally, the model is a hybrid of digital and analog formats. It supports 29 time zones, has an automatic calendar to 2099, a stopwatch, a countdown timer and five alarms. It’s powered by a CR1220 battery that lasts for two years.
Other new products from Casio
In addition to the new Barbie version, Casio Japan has introduced two models from the Urban Utility line: the GD-010CE-5JF and the GA-010CE-2AJF. The case and bezel of these watches are made of biomass plastic, while the straps are made from recycled materials. Natural dyes from food waste are used in the process of coloring the straps: the GA-010CE model is colored with turnip red, while the GD-010CE is colored with echinacea.
