WWDC 2025 playlist covers hint at iOS 26 design

At the WWDC 2025 conference, which officially kicks off today, Apple unveiled new themed playlists. Their visuals could hint at a key design innovation in a future version of iOS.

Four playlists for WWDC week

Apple has published four music compilations on Apple Music to accompany the event. Three new ones have been added to the already available WWDC25 Hello: WWDC25 Power Up, WWDC25 Sunshine, and WWDC25 Jazz.

Each one symbolizes a different mood and format for developer week interaction, from upbeat tracks to relaxing jazz.

Hints at iOS 26’s glass interface

The design of the playlist covers has gotten a lot of attention. The images are rendered in a translucent glass style, with visual effects reminiscent of liquid and translucent surfaces.

It’s elements like these that are rumored to be at the heart of iOS 26’s new interface, the so-called Liquid Glass. It’s a move toward a more light and airy design, with an emphasis on depth and transparency in the controls.

While Apple hasn’t officially confirmed any such changes in iOS 26, the styling of the playlist artwork may provide indirect confirmation of those speculations.

The WWDC 2025 keynote presentation will begin at 8 p.m. Moscow time. It’s during this session that the company is expected to unveil iOS 26, as well as other updates to its platforms, for the first time.
