The TVs are based on the α8 processor, which significantly outperforms its predecessor in a number of important features. LG says the processor delivers 1.3 times better AI performance, 2.3 times better graphics performance and 1.6 times faster processing.
Because of this, LG has been able to implement several useful AI features in the new models. For example, AI Picture Pro uses deep learning algorithms to detect faces, objects and backgrounds in a scene, which improves texture and adds fine details for a more realistic image. Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro optimizes HDR for high detail and 3D effects. And AI Sound Pro delivers a virtual 9.1.2.
