Audi introduces the new e-tron GT base package

Audi continues to expand its electric model lineup with the introduction of a new, more affordable version of the e-tron GT electric car. The new e-tron GT quattro is positioned as the entry-level model in the series and will be a good opportunity for buyers to enter the premium electric car segment. It complements the existing S e-tron GT, RS e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT performance versions.

Characteristics and range

The new car has the least powerful powertrain in the range: two electric motors with a combined output of 370 kW, which temporarily increases to 430 kW when Launch Control is activated. Despite its “basic” status, the electric car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds. Power is supplied by a 105 kWh battery (97 kWh of usable capacity), which provides a range of up to 622 kilometers on a single WLTP charge.

Fast charging is on the level here too: up to 320 kW of power can replenish up to 285 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes under the right conditions. Thanks to the intelligent route planner with battery pre-conditioning, the driver can optimize charging on the go.

Design and comfort

Externally, the e-tron GT quattro doesn’t differ much from the older models. It retains a sweeping silhouette with a long wheelbase, large wheels and streamlined body lines. The drag coefficient is just 0.24, and active air intakes contribute to better aerodynamics and noise reduction. The front end is highlighted by the distinctive body-colored Singleframe inverted grille, while the rear end features an elegant diffuser with vertical ribs.

The interior has everything for comfort: eight-way adjustable sports seats with integrated headrests in the front, as well as increased legroom in the rear thanks to special recesses in the accumulator in the floor. The trunk volume is 405 liters and there is an additional 77 liters of space in the front compartment.

Dynamics and Technology

The quattro all-wheel drive system with intelligent traction distribution between the axles analyzes road conditions and instantly redirects torque for better stability. The new model is also 30 kilograms lighter than the S version, which has a positive impact on handling and efficiency.

In contrast to the related Porsche Taycan, which is produced in Zuffenhausen, the e-tron GT quattro is assembled at Audi’s plant in Neckarzulm (Bollinger Höfe). It’s available to order now, with a starting price of €108,900 – almost €20,000 less than the next-level version of the e-tron GT S.
