Capcom celebrates eighth consecutive year of record profits

Capcom continues to deliver impressive financial results, with the company reporting a new record year across all key metrics. According to its annual report to investors for fiscal year 2024, ending March 31, 2025, the publisher set revenue and profit records for the eighth consecutive year.
Capcom’s total revenue totaled 169.6 billion yen (roughly $1.14 billion), up 11.3% year-on-year. Net income reached 48.45 billion yen ($327.5 million), showing an 11.7% increase. The company also recorded its twelfth consecutive year of operating profit growth and its tenth consecutive year of growth of more than 10%.

Capcom’s gaming division sold 51.87 million copies of its games during the year, up 5 million from last year. A significant role was played by the release of Monster Hunter Wilds, which sold over 10 million copies in its first month. Games from the existing catalog, including the Monster Hunter series, also sold strongly.
The company’s strategy of extending the life cycle of its older titles continues to pay off. Thanks to regular discounts at digital retailers, 13 Capcom games have sold more than 1 million copies in a year. Among them are Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Monster Hunter Rise and the remake of Resident Evil 3.
Separately highlighted is the sustained success of Resident Evil 7, which has sold at least one million copies every year since its release in January 2017. Overall, the Resident Evil series has reached the 170 million copies sold mark, Monster Hunter has 120 million, Street Fighter has 56 million, Mega Man has 43 million, and Devil May Cry has 33 million.
Capcom is confident of continued growth and is forecasting a ninth consecutive year of record profits. Revenue is expected to reach 190 billion yen (about $1.28 billion). Upcoming releases include Capcom Fighting Collection 2 (May 16), a remaster of Onimusha 2 (May 23), and versions of Street Fighter 6 and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess for the Switch 2 console to coincide with the launch of the console itself on June 5.
