Alien: Romulus – everything you need to know about the movie

The famous tagline of the movie Alien, “In space, no one can hear you scream,” has one distinction that few people realize. That statement is only true in the vacuum of space. Inside a spaceship, screams are perfectly audible, and it looks like there will be a lot of screaming in the next movie in the series.

And it looks like there will be a lot of screaming in the next movie.

It’s no secret that action has dominated over horror in the movies made since Ridley Scott’s “Alien.” But “Alien: Romulus” returns to the franchise’s horror roots thanks to director and co-writer Fede Alvarez. Prior to this film, Alvarez had established himself in the horror genre thanks to the stunning remake of “The Evil Dead” as well as the original “Don’t Breathe.” It’s that same feeling that Alvarez brings to “Alien: Romulus.”

And that’s exactly what Alvarez brings to “Alien: Romulus.

The film “Alien: Romulus” was originally conceived as a project for Hulu, but was switched to a theatrical release before production began. Thus, the franchise will return to the big screen for the first time in seven years. To help prepare for the return of the xenomorphs, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about “Alien: Romulus.”

What will Alien: Romulus be about

Alien: Romulus

At this point, plot details about “Romulus” are pretty scarce. But we do know that the movie will have a much younger cast of characters than its predecessors. The main characters are — colonists who trash a space station in search of anything useful. On the station, they discover an invasion of xenomorphs that may not let any of them get out alive.

They’re not the only ones on the station.

How will “Alien: Romulus” fit into the “Alien” timeline?”

.

Alvarez revealed that the movie is set in the decade between the events of “Alien” and “Aliens.” This rules out Ellen Ripley appearing in the movie as Sigourney Weaver, as she was in limbo during that long hiatus. It also raises questions about how the xenomorphs ended up on the space station and how aware the people on Earth are of the threat they pose.

It’s safe to say that most of these characters won’t make it to the end of the movie. But that’s true for any movie in the “Alien” franchise.

Is there a trailer for the movie?

Yes, and it does something amazing: it inflicts terror from the mere sight of facehuggers (facehuggers. As you may recall, there are no adult xenomorphs without facehuggers, which jump on a victim and lay eggs inside their body. But we’ve never seen facehuggers move with as much ferocity and speed as in these shots.

Facehuggers are the most ferocious and fast-moving xenomorphs we’ve ever seen.

.

The trailer also hides the first look at the adult xenomorph until the very end. This is probably a good idea, because xenomorphs aren’t as impressive when they’re always on screen. When they become monsters off-screen, they become frightening again.

And when they’re on-screen, they become frightening.

What do the aliens look like in Alien: Romulus?”

.

On April 30, USA Today revealed a new look at the Xenomorph. From the trailer, fans of the sci-fi franchise will immediately recognize the alien’s familiar appearance, with razor-sharp teeth and an elongated head.

On Alien Day (April 26) this year, director Fede Alvarez shared a behind-the-scenes look at how the facehugger monsters will move in “Alien: Romulus.”

In lieu of CG, Alvarez decided to resort to practical effects to bring one of the franchise’s most iconic creatures to life.
