Fiio have released the FT3, their first Hi-Res full-size wired headphones

Fiio have applied their best technical know-how to this model: 60mm diameter driver with diamond-like carbon diaphragm, beryllium-coated suspension, asymmetrical magnet arrangement. Extended set with replaceable ear cushions and plugs for all popular connection types corresponds to the premium level of the model. At the same time, the manufacturer has traditionally set a democratic price.
Large driver. The Fiio FT3s feature a 60mm dynamic driver. For full-size headphones, 40mm to 50mm drivers are common. The larger diameter allows for deeper bass and less distortion at high volumes.
Not every material will be suitable for the stable performance of a large driver. Fiio engineers tested different options and found the optimal solution. The diamond-like carbon (DLC) diaphragm is strong and resilient enough to deliver natural and linear sound, even at high volume. The DLC diaphragm achieves accurate response across the entire frequency range and reduced nonlinear distortion. The beryllium-coated suspension allows precise control of large diaphragm movements. Distortion can occur from tension variations in a diaphragm of this size, but the robust suspension solves this problem. Also, the choice of suspension materials has reduced the weight of the driver.
High impedance. The 350 ohm impedance filters out noise and distortion from a source such as an amplifier. Plus, the high impedance smooths out the high frequency peaks that occur in the headphones when you turn up the volume. At the same time, the sensitivity is enough to make the headphones comfortable to listen to both from a stationary system and from a portable player. The 0.035mm thick Japanese-made copper-coated aluminum coil is responsible for fast response and dynamics throughout the entire reproduction range. Asymmetrical magnet system. Powerful N52 neodymium magnets are used to drive the 60mm driver with an impedance of 350 ohms. The asymmetrical arrangement of the outer and inner magnet system allows you to control the movement of the coil and diaphragm for a more accurate and natural sound.
Open acoustic design gives a wide spacious stage and live sound. The backs of the enclosures have grilles, which, unlike solid covers, don’t cause unnecessary sound reflection. The earcups and headband are made of aluminum and eco-leather. The construction is sturdy and wear-resistant, yet the headphones do not tire during long listening sessions. With a sleek, futuristic design, the earbuds are eye-catching without being too flashy or flashy.
The model comes with a 3.5m monocrystalline copper balanced cable. The cable is strong and robust thanks to a nylon braided cable with heat, fire and kink protection. The Fiio FT3 will fit any source, from a stationary player to a portable player to a phone. The cable is equipped with interchangeable plugs: 4.4mm and XLR-4 for balanced connections; 3.5mm and 6.3mm for unbalanced connections.
