Pixel Watch 3 design video reveals unannounced Concentric watch face update
By ForGeeks Google has traditionally released design videos for its Pixel and Nest devices, and recently published a video about the design of the Pixel Watch 3. However, careful users noticed a detail in it that’s not yet in the official releases – an updated version of the Concentric dial.

The new Concentric dial, shown in the video, resembles the existing dial Dial I, but with the addition of a ring of four widgets positioned between the minutes and seconds. The bottom two slots display battery percentage and heart rate data. One of the new widgets can supposedly show VO2 Max (or so-called «cardio fitness»), although such a feature is not currently available as a standalone widget. The fourth widget shows two waves with a numerical value, which could probably be related to breathing rate, which is currently only measured at night in the Health Metrics section.

Future of the watch face
All of the other watch faces shown in the video are already available on the current version of the Pixel Watch 3, including popular options like Active, Field and Track. However, the updated Concentric has not yet been officially released, and the question remains whether it will become a real feature or just a visual demonstration.

To date, Google hasn’t released new watch faces for the Pixel Watch outside of the devices’ annual releases. However, if the Concentric update does come, it would be the first expansion of an existing watch face for the Pixel Watch. It’s important to note that neither the Pixel Watch nor the Pixel Watch 2 have yet to receive official watch faces for 2024, which could also mean future updates.

The updated Concentric could be a popular addition for Pixel Watch 3 owners thanks to its handy data display. We can only hope that this design actually shows up in a future update and doesn’t remain just part of a promotional video.
