Apple’s AR/MR headset will give the entire VR industry a boost
By ForGeeks Prominent analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is confident that Apple’s long-awaited AR/VR headset will be unveiled at June’s WWDC conference. He notes that the company «s well prepared for the release» of the new device.
He also notes that the release of the headset will greatly benefit supply chain partners, which will boost the entire VR industry. The more expensive parts of the AR/VR headset are the assembly (Luxshare exclusive), micro OLED display (Sony exclusive), dual processor (TSMC exclusive), chassis (mostly supplied by Everwin Precision), 12 camera modules (Cowell Electronics exclusive) and Goertek external power supply. Kuo notes that Cowell Electronics will benefit the most, since it has the fewest other customers.
If Apple’s AR/VR headset launch is successful, Kuo notes, it could be the most important new investment trend in consumer electronics.
