Xiaomi Mix Fold 3: official images

The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 will be unveiled on August 14, but founder and CEO Lei Jun is already offering a glimpse of the phone’s exquisite design. Jun describes it in three words: slim, elegant, and premium.

A zoom of Leica’s four cameras reveals focal lengths at the near and far ends — 15mm ultra-wide and 115mm periscope. The old Mix Fold 2 also had a 15mm ultrawide, but it was only equipped with an 8MP 45mm portrait camera (2x zoom), so zooming out to 115mm — an impressive step.

Only a handful of horizontal foldables introduced this year have a periscope — the Google Pixel Fold (112mm) and the Huawei Mate X3 (125mm). The rest of the foldable smartphones stick to the 2 to 3x zoom range.

All the other foldable smartphones are in the 2 to 3x zoom range.

The Mix Fold 2022 was quite thin — 11.2mm when closed, which is much smaller than, for example, the 13.4mm of the Galaxy Z Fold5. The competition could be the Honor Magic V2 (9.9 mm when closed).

A few words on what to expect: according to leaks, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 will feature IP-rated protection, an internal camera under the display, and 67W wired and 50W wireless charging.
