Vivo X300 Ultra may get the industry’s largest multispectral sensor and a new teleconverter
The successor to the Vivo X200 Ultra is expected to hit the global market and will be able to offer significantly more natural color reproduction in photos and videos. According to insiders, the industry’s largest multispectral sensor will help achieve this. The same source says the Vivo X300 Ultra will also get a new teleconverter, and the smartphone could make its official debut in China as early as March.
Till now, leaks about the Vivo X300 Ultra have mostly focused on the three large camera sensors, a 35mm lens and a supposed zoom module. However, aside from optics and sensors, smartphone makers continue to improve other aspects of the camera. One such area is color accuracy, where multispectral sensors play an important role — something Oppo, in particular, has been focusing on for several years now.

Although the multispectral sensor in the Oppo Find X9 Pro has seen some issues in practice, especially when used with a proprietary photo kit, the technology itself in theory allows the smartphone to more accurately detect ambient colors, especially in low light. According to insider Digital Chat Station, the Vivo X300 Ultra will also get a multi-spectral sensor — supposedly the largest in the industry at 5MP. That could make it one of the best solutions in its class this year.
