Samsung has confirmed the release of a triple-folding foldable smartphone by the end of the year

Despite rumors, a trifold smartphone from Samsung was never unveiled at the latest Galaxy Unpacked event. However, last week, Samsung Electronics CEO T.M. Roh confirmed that the new product will still be released before the end of this year. He said, “Right now we are focused on finalizing the product and its usability. No name has been chosen yet, but we will make a final decision as we finalize the design.”

It appears that a name has already been decided. Insider Max Jambor has reported that the device could be called the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold. It’s possible they’ll add a model number to the name, like the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, the first FE variant in the Flip lineup, which is the seventh generation of the Z series.

Some clues about the upcoming device were found in the One UI 8 firmware, which debuted alongside the new foldable models but was initially tested on the Galaxy S25 series.

It was previously speculated that the smartphone would be called the Galaxy G Fold, which was in line with the Flex G and Flex S display prototypes Samsung showed back at CES 2022. However, the company may not want to give up the recognizable “Z” branding.

So far, only the device’s codename, Q7M, and model number SM-F968 are known. By comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is labeled Q7 and SM-F966. According to the leaks, the device will have a limited run and will only be sold in select countries.

The Samsung has confirmed the release of a triple-bend foldable smartphone by the end of the year was first published on ITZine.ru.
