RedMagic 11 Air – a slim gaming smartphone with active cooling and Snapdragon 8 Elite has been unveiled
Nubia-owned gaming brand RedMagic has officially unveiled the new RedMagic 11 Air smartphone. As expected, the device is aimed primarily at gamers, but it also has a relatively thin body by the standards of the RedMagic lineup.
RedMagic 11 Air retains the company’s signature transparent design with visible internals. According to the company, the back panel design is inspired by vinyl records, race tracks, and geometric art. The case also features an active cooling fan with RGB lighting — a hallmark of RedMagic smartphones.
On the front is a large 6.85-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. The manufacturer calls it a «true full-screen» solution, as the 16-megapixel front-facing camera is placed below the screen. The panel supports 2592Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and DC Dimming, has ultra-thin 1.25mm thick bezels and a screen-to-body ratio of 95.1%.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship processor paired with Redcore’s proprietary Redcore R4 gaming chip is responsible for the performance. The smartphone is equipped with LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, and CUBE’s proprietary Sky Engine performance optimization system.
RedMagic claims that the device delivers more stable FPS than MediaTek Dimensity 9500-based competitors, especially in demanding games, and supports 144Hz modes in many popular titles.

As befits a gaming smartphone, the RedMagic 11 Air gets professional shoulder triggers with a 520Hz polling rate, as well as an advanced cooling system. It includes an aerospace-grade aluminum frame, graphene copper foil, a 4D evaporation chamber, and a dual-channel active-fan heat dissipation system designed for long gaming sessions.
The smartphone features a 7,000 mAh battery with support for 120W fast wired charging and a bypass charging mode for gaming. The device runs REDMAGIC OS 11.0 and offers a suite of AI features, including image search, real-time translation, object recognition, and even an AI tactical assistant that can prompt you while you play.
The case is 7.85mm thick. While that’s not a record for a smartphone with the Air prefix, the RedMagic 11 Air is the industry’s thinnest phone with a built-in cooling fan.

The RedMagic 11 Air starts at 3,699 yuan (about $530) in China for the version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. A modification with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is priced at 4,399 yuan (about $631). Quantum Black and Stardust White colors are available at launch, while the Aurora Silver version will be available in March.
