Spotify to launch new fare with Hi-Fi this year

Back in February 2021, Spotify announced a new subscription with lossless audio — «Spotify HiFi». Since then, a similar level of subscription has appeared on some of the service’s competitors, such as Apple Music. Apparently, that fact has caused Spotify to delay the release of the new tariff a bit.
Now Bloomberg reports that the Hi-Fi subscription is ready to launch. That said, its price will be higher, but it’s not yet clear by how much. There was a survey a few months ago that suggested a price of $20, double the current $10 premium plan.

This pricing is for the U.S., under Spotify may test HiFi in other markets first before introducing it in the States (similar to how Netflix tested its password-sharing ban in other markets to gauge customer response).
Surely Spotify will add some more tricks to the new plan, as Apple Music and Amazon Music Unlimited offer HiFi as part of a regular premium subscription for $11.
