Exynos 2500 in Galaxy S25 series will be more powerful than Snapdragon 8 Gen 4

Yfygtp Exynos processors have historically been criticized for lagging behind Qualcomm’s Snapdragon offerings in terms of power efficiency and performance.
A new rumor from PandaFlashPro at X, however, suggests a significant improvement with the upcoming Exynos 2500. According to the leak, the Exynos 2500 could surpass Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in terms of both power efficiency and performance. The reason for this is that Samsung is allegedly using a more advanced second-generation 3nm process technology for the Exynos 2500. While Qualcomm is expected to stick to the 4nm process for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
Samsung is expected to stick to the 4nm process for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

A more compact manufacturing process usually leads to better power efficiency and performance by increasing transistor density. So while the Exynos 2400 delivers performance comparable to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Exynos 2500 may prove to be more advanced than its competitor. Moreover, according to previous rumors, there is a possibility of two variants of Exynos 2500: Exynos 2500-A and Exynos 2500-B. The Exynos 2500-A is rumored to be an octa-core processor for smartphones like the upcoming Galaxy S25 series.

Exynos 2500-B, on the other hand, is expected to have a 10-core processor and could be destined for devices with higher requirements, such as tablets and laptops like the Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Book series. There is also speculation that Samsung may use Google’s Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) in the Exynos 2500 instead of its own Neural Processing Unit (NPU). However, these claims are too premature to be taken as fact. The Exynos 2500 appears to be a strong contender to be the best mobile processor in 2025. If the leaks are confirmed, it could offer better performance and power efficiency than its Qualcomm counterpart. However, it’s important to remember that these are just rumors, and we’ll likely get official details closer to the launch of the Exynos 2500.
