Asus has unveiled the TUF Gaming B850-BTF motherboard with a 600W GPU slot

Asus has announced a new motherboard TUF Gaming B850-BTF WiFi W, which is part of the Back To (the) Future (BTF) series. It is built on the AMD B850 chipset, supports the latest Ryzen processors and offers a unique solution for cable management and graphics card power. The device is expected to premiere at Computex 2025.
The main features of the board are a proprietary slot for graphics cards with up to 600W power supply and concealed routing of all cables on the back side. This approach allows for a tidy assembly with no visible wires, but requires a BTF-compatible enclosure.
They’re not the only way to achieve a neat build with no visible wires, but they do require a BTF-standard enclosure.
Characteristics and compatibility
The board is ATX equipped with AM5 socket and supports the following processors:
- Ryzen 7000 (Raphael)
- Ryzen 8000 (Phoenix)
- Ryzen 9000 (Granite Ridge)
The power system – 14+2+1 phase, 80A power modules and eight-layer PCB ensure stable operation with both 35W chips and 170W tops.
- 4 DDR5 slots with support for up to 256GB (64GB modules)
- Memory overclocking up to DDR5-8000+ (CPU dependent)
- Support for AMD EXPO and Asus AEMP for modules without overclocking profiles

New 600W GPU slot: plus or minus?”
The main innovation is a special slot for graphics cards that transfers power across the motherboard. Power is delivered via a standard cable 12V-2×6 that connects not to the card, but to the back of the board. These are:
- Removes unnecessary wires from the case
- Reduces the risk of overheating and melting 16-pin connectors
But it only works with Asus BTF graphics cards. You can’t use third-party models because it limits the choice of GPU.
Expansion Slots and Storage
- 1 x PCIe 5.0 x16
- 1 x PCIe 4.0 x16
- 1 x PCIe 4.0 x1
Storage is represented by three slots M.2 (one PCIe 5.0, two PCIe 4.0) and four SATA III slots. RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 are supported, but functionality is processor dependent.

Networking and advanced features
- Network adapter: 2.5G Ethernet
- Wireless: Wi-Fi 7 + Bluetooth 5.4
- Assembly conveniences:
- PC PCIe lock reset button
- M.2 retainers without screws
- Removable Wi-Fi antennas
When and how much will it cost?”
The price and release date of the TUF Gaming B850-BTF WiFi W has not been announced yet. Asus promises to demo the board at Computex 2025, where details are likely to be announced.
