Microsoft has more games in the PlayStation Store top 25 than Sony does

The purchase of Activision Blizzard and the hit Fallout series certainly helped a lot.
Microsoft’s game program got a lot bigger last fall when the company acquired Activision Blizzard, and combined with the fact that they’ve now released some older games (Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded and soon Sea of Thieves) on competing formats, Thursday’s PlayStation event was something we’ve never seen before.

TweakTown journalist Derek Strickland noticed that there are now more Microsoft games than Sony games in the top 25 best-selling titles through the PlayStation Store. It’s a clear sign of how big Microsoft’s role is in the modern gaming world, but also proof of how important Sony is to it.

The seven Microsoft games on this list (Sony only has five entries) — are Call of Duty, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Grounded, Minecraft, Overwatch 2 and Sea of Thieves. That’s something many of us couldn’t have guessed a few years ago.
