The original Age of Empires 3 is no longer available for purchase, according to the announcement on the game’s Steam page.

Players who already own the game can still enjoy the campaign and battle modes, as multiplayer — is the only feature that will be removed.

The game Age of Empires 3 was released in 2005 by Ensemble Studios and received a remaster in 2020 called Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition. The remaster, developed by Tantalus Media and Forgotten Empires, includes updated graphics, a fresh soundtrack, new game modes and additional civilizations.

Definitive Edition will still be available for purchase on Steam and the Windows Store. While Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition and Age of Empires 4 have already been released on Xbox consoles, Age of Empires 3 has yet to receive a console version.

Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition will continue to be available for purchase on Steam and Windows Store.
