Clair Obscur sets The Game Awards 2025 record by picking up game of the year and eight other awards

French studio Sandfall Interactive and its critically acclaimed RPG triumphed at the ceremony, taking home the evening’s top prize, as well as awards for Best Indie Game, Best Debut, Best Art Direction, Best Soundtrack, Best RPG, Best Narrative, Best Director, and Best Performance (for Jennifer English).
The only categories in which a game was nominated but didn’t win were — best sound work (Battlefield 6 won) and Players’ Voice, where Wuthering Waves won.
Clair Obscur already holds the record for the most nominations at The Game Awards — 13, but Sandfall’s nine wins also marks a new record for the most awards in the award’s history. The previous leader — The Last of Us Part II — held the bar with seven awards in 2020.
The game was so dominant that no other nominated title won more than one award.
