There are 1,400 retro games coming to Xbox, thanks in large part to Phil Spencer

Retro gaming streaming service Antstream Arcade is now available on Xbox, and according to its head, it’s thanks in large part to the involvement of Phil Spencer. The service, which allows players to access a streaming library of more than 1,400 retro games, is now available as its own app on Xbox Series X/S and One.

The full list of available games currently stands at 1,470, including 200+ Amiga games, nearly 300 arcade games, 350+ C64 games, 50+ Mega Drive games, 40+ SNES games and 350+ ZX Spectrum games. Among the games featured on the service are — Mortal Kombat, Metal Slug X, Earthworm Jim 2, Space Invaders, R-Type and Robotron 2084.

Although Antstream Arcade is available on PC and mobile devices, the Xbox version is a separate product and users will have to create a separate account for it.

Players can purchase either an annual subscription to the service for $29.99 or a Lifetime Pass Edition for $79.99. In an interview with the Expansion Pass podcast, Antstream studio head Mike Rouse said that the creation of the Xbox app was largely due to Phil Spencer’s involvement.
