TP-Link has unveiled a new entry-level gaming router — the Archer GE400 with Wi-Fi 7 support. The device runs on the BE6500 dual-band scheme and is available now for a starting price of $169.99.

The Archer GE400 delivers aggregate wireless speeds of up to 6.5 Gbps: up to 5,765 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and up to 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. The router utilizes advanced Wi-Fi 7 technologies, including 4K-QAM and Multi-Link Operation (MLO), which increase data rates, reduce latency, and ensure stable connectivity even in congested networks.

Archer GE400 delivers up to 6.5 Gbps of aggregate wireless speed, up to 665 Gbps on the 5 GHz band, and up to 665 Gbps on the 5 GHz band.

TP-Link has equipped the device with six high-gain external antennas and directional signal conditioning technology, which ensures strong reception and stable connectivity over a wide area. The network is powered by a quad-core processor that optimizes real-time performance. Ports include — two 2.5GbE RJ45 connectors, three 1GbE connectors, and a USB-A port with up to 5Gbps speeds for connecting storage or file sharing.

There are a number of special features for gamers, including Turbo Game Acceleration, which prioritizes traffic for gaming apps and devices. There’s also a dedicated gaming LAN port for a stable wired connection, Game QoS to minimize lag and latency, and a built-in port-forwarding tool that makes it easy to set up multiplayer games.

The router has a racecar-inspired design, with a central RGB stripe that can be customized via the app or web interface. Performance monitoring, traffic statistics, and a gamer dashboard are also available there.

Archer GE400 supports EasyMesh technology, which lets you connect multiple compatible TP-Link routers or amplifiers to a single network with seamless roaming and centralized management.

The device also includes TP-Link HomeShield, a security suite that provides malware protection, hacking prevention, DDoS blocking, and IoT device monitoring.
